New Release: The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan 長門有希ちゃんの消失

Nagato Yuki no Shoshitsu

My good friend Seb sent me this image yesterday of the fourth volume of Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoshitsu (長門有希ちゃんの消失), aka The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan. The storyline in this spin-off follows the story of the alternate Yuki, shy and timid, who appears in the movie: The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi, giving us an insight into that alternate world.

Of course there's some artistic license, but it's great how it's done, especially for Asakura Ryoko who appeared in the first Haruhi anime. For those that wish for the Yuki and Kyon ending they were denied, I suppose this is the answer for them. I hear complains that the art isn't well drawn and it has a bad storyline, but personally I don't see it. I suppose I would advise you to take a flick through in your local bookstore.

So far Ruben and I both have the first three volumes translated into English by Yen Press but I had been eagerly scouting for the fourth, and any others left in the series. Seems like another one is finally out!

If you're around Sydney, Australia, you get buy this adorable series at Kinokuniya in The Galeries Victoria, Town Hall.
