Sylvester McCoy as The Doctor and Radagast

Did not realise.

I wouldn’t say that I am particularly acquainted with Doctors older than the 9th, however I am at least familiar with their faces, so it came as a surprise that I did not recognise Sylvester McCoy at all in both the first or the second Hobbit movie. Though admittedly he has aged considerably.

Perhaps it’s the unusually long hair and the beard.

If I ever get the chance to purchase DVDs of the movies, I know I’ll probably be watching out for appearances of Radagast now, same as when I looked out for appearances of Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, played by David Tennant. It’s interesting to see actors play other roles especially when you’re so used to them playing these characters that you know well and love.

Now all I need is to obtain Broadchurch and I’ll be one happy lady. As opposed to laddy. Interestingly Broadchurch also has Arthur Darvill starring — I wonder if they ever talk about Doctor Who together?
