I actually had another webhost that was recommended to me by a friend yesterday afternoon which I didn't include in my post for Shared Server Hosting Comparison because I was looking at the wrong site at the time, given I wasn't sure how to spell it. I realised what it was today in class when a fellow student (I'm sorry, I can't locate your blog here!) mentioned that they had purchased their webhosting with VentraIP.

For the sake of completeness, I'd like to go through the same process of analysing whether this host meets my requirements, although this host now comes with a double recommendation, one that is also backed up by comments of praise from the Australian Whirlpool Forums.

Type: Appears to be Shared Linux Cost: $5.95/month (Economy, cheapest) (S)FTP: Yes (Under SCP and FTP Account Manager) SSH: Provided SQL: MySQL 5.5, unlimited PHP: PHP 5.3 Comments: Currently offering 50% of your first invoice. Uses cPanel. Offers a 45-day money-back guarantee. Australian-based.

There will always be positive and negative reviews for a product, and again the reviews mention that the customer support with VentraIP is terrible, yet others sing its praise. I suppose it is possible that it varies on a case by case business.

As an additional to this and the hosts mentioned in my previous blogpost however, if you check the Whirlpool Forums, you can find this post which contains many independent reviews on different webhosts, so it is more than likely that there are many more options available out there, it is merely whether it meets our individual requirements which affects our decision and experience.
