Effects of Technology on Media - There is no objectivity

...any understanding of contemporary visual mediation that ignores software does so at its own peril, in an age when cinema has become synonymous with Final Cut Pro, photography with Photoshop, writing with Microsoft Word, and on and on (Galloway, 2006:321).

Quote from a quote in a paper written by my lecturer of Digital Media and the Still Image. There exists no more a concept of objectivity in media, photography once was thought of as something that could depict 'reality', yet how it is framed and represented also changes its meaning.

The paper goes into more about advertising and use of photoshop and 'media bodies', but I won't go into that now... I barely understand it myself.
